Crests of Cities in the UK

A logo (an abbreviation of logotype) is a graphic mark, emblem, or symbol used to aid and/or promote public recognition, which may be of an abstract or figurative design or include the text of the name it represents as in a logotype or wordmark.  Because a logo is a visual entity representing an organisation, the design of that logo is an important area of graphic design.

This is a list of official cities in the United Kingdom as of 2015, showing those places that have been granted city status by letters patent or royal charter.  Currently there are a total of 69 such cities in the United Kingdom: 51 in England, 7 in Scotland, 6 in Wales, and 5 in Northern Ireland.

Note that in Greater London, the City of London and the City of Westminster each hold city status separately, but no other district has been granted such status, nor has Greater London itself.
